First Day of Preschool

Clara had her first day in her preschool room. She said she was a little "worried" before we left for the day. But once we were there and settled, she gave Mommy a quick hug and a kiss and was off and working on a project. Last night she helped to pack her snack and lunch and to make sure she had all of her school supplies for the day. Though the heavy rain was an annoyance, she sure did look cute walking in with her raincoat on!

Apple Picking

We enjoyed a morning of apple picking at Crooked Run Orchard in Purcellville, VA. When we got home, Clara washed the apples and could not wait to taste one! Mom is attempting a simple apple crisp for dessert tonight.

Roll over, Roll over

On July 6, Meghan rolled over for the first time. Two days later we can't keep her on her tummy and she's rolling both ways! Not a bad way to beat the intense heat we've had over the past week!

Miss Meghan

While Big Sister Clara goes to Miss Kelly's, Meghan and I get some one on one time together. This morning, after figuring out what nap schedule worked so far, we played in her little floor gym. She is so expressive with her concentration, effort, and smiles! I loved being able to capture a few of these charming moments!

At her 2 month appointment, she was 23 inches and 12.9 lbs.

It's really June??

Time seems to be flying by, and Meghan is already 9 weeks old and smiles! We're learning she is a very expressive and sometimes temperamental baby. Her level of awareness amazes us and she lets us know exactly how she's feeling.  She had her first trip to New Jersey for Mark's graduation. Getting out of the house for the weekend was no small task with two girls, but we made it! Not much else is going on around here. We're slowly trying to establish some kind of routine and we're getting more mobile. Tonight we actually went out to dinner as a family for the first time to Pei Wei near Chris's work. We drove home separately so he could bring home his new Audi A5 - his first company provided vehicle. Clara continues to do well with her swimming lessons and is making new friends. She stopped using her paci and now talks constantly. Some days she sounds like she's 18, but when her tired tantrums hit we're quickly brought back to reality.
